CHAIN GUIDES are simply a plastic profile used to carry a Roller Chain.
For chains that run on metal guides, it is quite easy to break down or exhaust
by relentless pressure or resistance if regular lubrication is not well done.
People find that the ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) is one
of the toughest polyethylene classifications available. This type of polyethylene
has a molecular weight number in the millions, , which gives it its characteristic
high degree of entanglement. People choose chain guides made of UHMW PE
to replace metal guides with the purpose of achieving quiet, smooth running
and long-term functional reliability. UHMW chain guides extend chain life,
reduce noise and friction. They guarantee optimum running properties at the
same time as extremely high wear resistance.
Advantages of Railsung chain guides
· High wear resistance
· Very good slide properties
· Self-lubricating (no need for any oil lubrication at all)
· Extremely impact and break resistant, even at very low
· temperatures (up to -250°C)
· High resistance to chemicals
· Vibration-reducing properties
· No moisture absorption
· No corrosion
· Approved for use in the food industry (EU and FDA)
Chain types
Railsung specializes in making all types of Roller Chain Guides, all available
in several grades of UHMW plastic: black repro - for lower cost; oil-filled
UHMW for higher speed; green repro which matches the European
guides; static-dissipative for conduction purposes; and HT for high
temperatures up to 275 degrees.
At Railsung, we have in stock many types of ANSI roller chain inserts
for conveyor chains. Typical styles include:
Chain guides are available in the channel style, raised track, and as a
channel with a raised track. These chain guides are also available as inserts
for mounting channels. The channels are available as galvanized or
stainless steel. A mounting channel is welded or bolted into place and
allows the UHMW to expand and contract without buckling. Stainless
and Galvanized Mounting Channels Sold Separately.
Stock and individual production
We have an extensive range of guides for roller chains in stock that comply
with DIN 8187 In the U.S., power transmission chains must meet ANSI B29.1
You can order them in standard sizes, or have a custom order. In addition,
we can manufacture economical and reliable special guides in accordance
with your specifications – even in small quantities.
